About this event:
Advocates of Open Educational Resources (OER) recognized early on that certain legal, technical, and social challenges would have to be addressed in order for the OER movement to have some chance at success. However, many early practitioners also assumed that the OER movement would quickly move beyond these issues and progress meaningfully toward implementing best practices, improving professional development opportunities, scaling proven strategies, and more. So, what have we learned? What positive outcomes can be replicated and grown? If someone were to start a new OER project today, what could we say with confidence that will improve student success, in addition to any time and cost savings?
Join us as we reflect on our progress to date and future opportunities.
Presenters: Dr. Lisa Petrides, Chief Executive Officer & Founder, ISKME; David Wiley, Chief Academic Officer, Lumen Learning; and, Ahrash Bissell, Director of Strategic Partnerships, The NROC Project
